Daniel L. McDonaldDan McD. himself

Hello, world!

I hand-hack my HTML, and as a result these pages won't be the flashiest you see. I don't update these with any regular frequency, either, so some links may be out of date. Send me mail if some link on here is stale, and I'll fix it.

About Dan...

I'm currently a senior staff engineer in the Solaris Networking and Security Engineering group of Sun Microsystems. I have a Sun blog here. My professional interests include networking protocol research and development (and admittedly, more than a little network security), operating systems development, personal computer software, compiler code-generation, and computer architecture. Click here for Dan's PGP public key.

I went to school at The University of Michigan where I got my B.S. in Computer Science. After that, I went to The University of Arizona for an M.S., also in Computer Science, in 1993.

On the lighter side, I enjoy music (both listening and performing, although the latter is rare nowadays), volleyball, softball, travel (especially driving), seeing what's out there, bicycling, reading, and occasionally writing.

Because everyone needs to have a list of links to places. Some (not all) of my specific interests can be gleaned from this list. Other links are in there just because they're cool.
